    Default Plaque for Mexico

    Here is a plaque I took to Mexico last week.
    6x30 and made of mahogany.
    Project took 3hr 1min. on best quality.

    That is one nice looking plaque. How did you find the mahogany to carve? It looks like it carved very nice.

    Bobreda,
    I purchased this mahogany as a bulk purchase, from a local supplier. Internetlumber.com is a good supplier, with fair prices for quality wood.
    The mahogany carves great w/ minor "fuzzies" that cleans w/ brass brush on a dremel. But pratice carving on pine. It could get real expensive.
    http://woodworkerssource.net/ is also a great sight w/alot of info about each type of wood and its reaction to weather/ temp. etc.... I scan spend way to much time on ths site.
