    Default Snowman light switch cover

I'm still on the light switch and outlet kick. Decided to make a snowman light switch, kind of a combo of Intarsia and carving:
Hat is walnut, "snow" is birdseye maple, eyes are ebony, nose is redheart, scarf is lacewood, arms and button mouth are oak, mittens are redwood burl, tassels on scarf are soft maple.

Back recessed about 1/8" to allow for lightswitch.

I painted the mounting screws black, hoping for a look of coal.
It's about 9" tall and around 7" wide. What do you think?

I went ahead and scanned the carving and had the carvewright run one off out of some pine. Pics to follow.

    Thanks ~Mike

    Default Machine carved snowman

Here's the pine one I ran off on the machine:

Some light sanding and if my knot hadn't have been in the wrong spot, I think it's not to bad.

    What do you think?
    Thanks ~Mike

Mike.. Very Nice.. Is it possible to make it into a two switch plate? My wal switches are at least 2 switches wide with some 3 and even 4 wide. The Miami Dolphin plate I designed and carved made a nice 2 switch plate.

Very nice design.. What is the significance of the 16 bit?

are you going to sell the pattern?

my wife collects snowmen and i think she would like one or possibly make a larger one for a wall hanging without the switch and screw holes in it. please pm me if your interested.

    great job

Thanks Kendall, I put the pattern in the pattern depot with and without the holes, it's listed as Christmas Snowman.

    Thanks ~Mike

    Steve,
I think it would be possible to make this into a doulbe light switch cover though it would have to be stretched larger, so you'd need to have enough room around the switch plate to accomodate that.

As for the 16 bit I believe it's higher resolution for the newer software, I haven't upgraded yet so I can't take advantage of it at the moment.

    Thanks ~Mike
