    Default ? about greyscales

i probed an object and got a greyscale with 1.5" depth. can that be brought into the importer or do i have to go to a 3d package to get the stl. if so in the 3d app can i make it 3" deep?

    Tim,

The scans can only go into the pattern editor not STL importer. Can't answer your question on the 3d app..

Default what about the greyscale png?

will the importer take it or does it have to be an stl?

One work around would be exporting the image into zbrush and use projection master to create the image in 2.5d/3d then export as obj then convert to stl. I am not sure what other 3d app will take a greyscale image and make it 3d..inclined to think alot will. If you want pm me your e-mail and I will be happy to convert the image to stl for you

Could I get you to give a demo or a step by step guide on how to do this? I have a trial copy of Zbrush and would like to see if this work (can I do it) before I decide to lay out the cash.

Watch the tutorial on archetectural elements. It gives great info on projection master and how to use it. It's in the zbrush classroom
