Default August must be gutair time!

It's guitar time again or beer time not sure but here we go..

Here is a Les Paul with the elusive "1959 carved top" brought to you by the new STL importer "shameless plug"

The guitar top is splat maple the body is mahogany, fretboard is old Bras rosewood from the 1960's I use system 5 epoxy to impregnate the wood top as splat is semi rotten so it's hard to finish and sand, the epoxy helps a ton.

Next step is to dismantle the guitar and top coat with lacquer for more depth and tone, assemble the humbucker pickups, control knobs and wire using old school cloth wire and caps helps gives it mega tone.

The project includes neck body fretboard " using the 1/4" ballnose for the 10 radius" frets inlays and drill outs.

this guitars will on sale next month if your looking for that special gift "shameless plug # 2" let me know if you have any questions.

That's awesome use of wood and layout with the material.
Perfect placement of the natural shapes in the wood.
    What a beauty.

    LG,
It's guy's like you that make me want to do more creative projects. Your work is simply amazing!
However, the words Les Paul and Gibson make me cringe at times. My father had an original (I mean REAL) 59 Gibson Les Paul, that he left to me as a kid. My mother let me sell it for $1500 when I lived in Detroit in 1981, at age 15.
I see how few originals are out there now and what they are worth, so the cringing begins.

Yes it was, and at 15 it was amazing. However, my understanding is the price range is $250,000-$750,000 today. And easy to get it.
