Project for the Carve Wright

Spent a few hours this past weekend putting together a new home for the Carve Wright. The top has a downdraft type dust collection built into it to hook up to the dust collector. Probably won't do much when the project maxes out on the width, but hoping for good results otherwise. Still need to make some ext. rollers before there are any long projects. Question for CW staff. I noticed when tighting down the machine to the top, it is quite easy to compress the feet so there is no gap. I backed the bolts off a little to make sure there was some air movement. Question is: Would it be a good idea to cut ventilation holes in the top of the cab. to allow better air circulation? These holes would be separate from the dust collection ports.

I really like the cabinet, John. Now, I wanna know how effective the downdraft dust collection has been for you. I am debating making a tower that will have the CarveWright and my portable planer mounted vertically in the same floor space, and would like to know how well this worked to see if I wanna build that feature in

Thats a really good idea, I just finished building me a new router table with a nice dust collection system, seeing yours, I need to do the same for the CW, I want to make a hood for mine as well to keep the noise down, everytime I fire it up, people run.

Been on the road the last few days so haven't had much time to use the CW. Did one project before leaving that was about 10 inches wide. Dust was drawn down thru the middle quite well. The natural vibration of the machine along with the air flow seemed to channel the dust downward.
