    Default Router Bit Question

This might not be the place to ask, but using the CW to make a template I wanted to use a router with a collar for the template. What bit would be the best as far as downward or upward
    spiral.

    Thanks,
    Jim

Downcut if you're using a hand held router.

I would say up cut if you are only going to purchase one. You will be using it to clear out areas in your project. An up cut will work in any situation, a down cut only in some.
