That is a really good price on the carving bit.
I found one in the MSC catalog for $42.00 plus shipping.
It was listed as a 1/16" ball nosed solid carbide end mill with a 5 degree taper and 1" cutting length, 1/4" shank, 2.5" overall length.

Ours are also solid carbide end mills. We buy them in bulk, which brings the price down considerably.
