well, i just did a small sample on a scrap piece of 3/4 pine. it came out ok but not great. I have only used the designer and pattern editor software with it. I am still tinkering with it and I think I need to make it a lot bigger. I am still learning the ins and outs of the program getting things to do what I want. I know there are people that can take this and have it looking awesome in no time. I just need a little more time than most to get it the way I want it.

unfortunately all I have is the photo with no information on the piece. it was a monolith that was torn down many years ago. I think it was in el salvador where my friend is from. I wish I had more information. the picture was taken in 1996.
I've been looking also -- but no luck so far
It'll probably pop-up when we least expect it,
or when we're looking for something else.
Here's a Sketch I found found of the "Olmec" believed to be the first
tribal civilizations in Mesoamerica, and that the Maya, Zapotec, Mixtec, Aztec, Inca,
and others may have descended from.

I've had no luck either, but I've seen similar stelea. None of the pic were very useable though.

This is probably off the target of your art but there is a lot of different
angles and designs when you check out Coral castle in Homestead Florida

Ken,
Really REALLY COOL! Thread thanks
And thanks to all for all the great arts works here.
I saw Pratyeka painted his calendar gold, made me giggle with agreement that is what I did with mine did not have the heart to do the stone it goes on thick and would hide a lot of the detail in his pattern.
Thanks

While I was reading up on the "Olmec" people I learned that around 1200 BC.
they may have carved dozens of the huge Stone Heads,
weighing up to and above 15 tons, then transported them miles from the Stone Quarry
to the their present locations where they are still being found.
