    Default Adjustable Sled?

As I understand this machine, it finds the ends (and sides) with the board sensor, and uses the wheel to measure travel. If that is correct, could I cut a piece of Masonite 7 1/4" wide and 48" long, attach a 4"x7 1/4" block permanently to one end and drill holes 1" o/c to attach a similar block as needed along the length to make 1x8Xwhatever signs? If this would work, which end should the overhang be on?

    Default Sled

The rails are just as important as the end pieces.
The top rollers watch for the "End of the material/sled" and then the measuring changes to the top sensor and the Brass roller, looking for "Each" End. Therefore, as I understand the process, the Rails should extend to each end. Most of us, probably make our sleds at least the same width as our project board (or larger). I would rather make my sled at least 2" wider than the largest board I wish to carve and use movable "Inner Holding Blocks".

Here is a PDF that may help you see my concept.
