Why is the minimum board thickness .5"? Would I be risking damage to the machine if I ran .25" thk. boards?

I think with the newest version of the software you can now use 1/4" boards.

You are correct -- the requirement is now 1/4". The thickness limitation is due to mechanical issues with the compression rollers.

This information is VERY OLD and incorrect. The minimum thickness that can be put into the machine is .5". You can put 1/4" into the machine, but it must be on at least a 1/4" thick sled to take it up to the .5".
