    Default bit change

There is a red vertical line on the quick change mechanism. What does this line signify?

The inner ring of the quick change mechanism has a red area that matches up with the red line on the outer ring. The red areas overlap when the bit is completely seated.

This is a visible secondary safety feature that was designed into the router quick change product that we sell through Sears, and the CarveWright machine uses the same parts. It's not very easy to see the red area on the inner ring of the machine, but you can still feel the click when a bit is completely seated.
