That is a way cool Idea- I love it -and your attention to detail is out standing as always.
After seeing the black box I started a project of a CarveWright box for storing bits etc.
Yes it will sort of look like the machine. Will show pics later when I am a little further. Not to take away from your project, that I believe would be impossible.
You have done it again and wowed me.

Just a idea make the miter slide a lock for box slide back to open forward to lock ,
use lock bar under table to slide in hole .
