    Default Carve around pattern

How do I carve around a pattern?

It says like this in the help-file about feathering:
Feathering is a tapered region around a pattern. This is a traditional way of carving something into a board without having to carve the whole board.

What I want the machine to do is carve the whole board so the board is flat with a pattern on top of it.

Hope someone understands what I'm trying to say...

    Default Found it!

Found it, I made a rectangle the same size as my board and pushed the button carve region - and that's it.

Thought I already had tried that, but I think I must have selected the pattern when I hit the button before.
