Default Does probe need it own software?

I have found a guy that has a probe to sell, but he has no software? Does it need an licence or software, or can i use it with the design software that comes with the machine. Is there a licence to use it with machine?

You normally by the probe and software as a set, but yes the software is available seperately for $199.00. The probe does need it's own software.

    Joe,

The probe software is already embedded in the Designer Software. You will need to activate its license. That's where the $199.00 comes in. You can buy a brand new probe with license for $249.00 at Amazon. Don't pay too much for the used probe.

Plus, didn't I read in here a while back that the probe software license isn't transferable from one owner to another?

If so, I'd be careful about buying a second hand probe. Wherever you get it, new is the best way to go I'd think.
