ever since i have had my cw i have never been able to load a project normally in order to carve. i always have the machine measure (#7 on keypad) the board first, then when its finished measuring...
i've done nearly 20 lithos in 1/4in corian with depth settings as high as .175 (normally .15) without problems. i do a thorough cleaning with wet/dry and air compressor after every use. i also set...
unlike the experienced woodworkers/craftsmen who dominate this forum, i'm a 47 year old trader on the American Stock Exchange in nyc who's "shop" is the corner of my nj garage. i bought the cw to do...
though i've been successful buying some .25in corian on ebay, i'm still looking for a reliable supplier of more. anyone know of a supplier? thanks
When i removed the 1/16 carving bit for cleaning, it feels loose and has approx. 1/8in. of "give" in the shaft. there doesn't appear to be anyway of hightening it. does it need to be replaced? if so,...
Finally secured some .25in corian and have some finished projects worth displaying. learned a lot about keeping the machine free of dust (2 projects lost to sudden y-tract shift), that an air...
has anyone used mop sander on white cast acrylic (purchased from cw)? i am carving lithos and getting slight linear scratches. think i might have to stick with corian which shows no scrathes.
...
thanks, i'll try 1/2 inch and see how i like the look.
did several lithos on .25in corian (grey speckled) and they look great, but can't find white or bone. still waiting for my acrylic that i bought from cw.
anyone have a source of .25inch in bone or...
Replaced the flexshaft with the new factory screw, and after some minor issues, tried to carve. no luck. same old cw can measure any board perfectly if i use #7, but if i try to load a project, can't...
i just received the mop sanding pads from that web-site, not the mini-mop. plan on using it with variable speed drill. will let u know how they work
i bought my cw from them. looks as if they tested it because a small amount of white particles in machine when i opened it.
just spoke with LHR, my replacement screw is in the mail, yahoo!
that's not my picture so i can't verify that the screw looks like that. that looks more like the screw holding the head cover, but i don't know. and since LHR doesn't know, i won't find out until i...
i will sent $20 to the first person who tells me the proper screw type, size, and length (metric,etc,..) for the opening which holds the flexshaft assembly into the motor. this offer is open to LHR...
amazingly LHR tech people have no idea what size screw holds the assembly into the motor. after looking at the end of the old flexshaft assembly to see if i can see any marks made by the old screw,...
finally got my replacement flexshaft assembly, removed the head cover, and surprise, surprise no screw where screw should be holding flexshaft assembly into motor. anyone know the proper screw size?
...
thanks, i was way off. with that many, there must be lots of machines out there with lots of hours on them. hope i get there with mine.
does anyone have a good estimate of how many machines are out in the public's hands? i assume a large percentage of buyers/users use this forum, just trying to figure out the overall size of the cw...
very nice work, keep it up
i'm in north jersey 20 min from tunnel, but my machine is down awaiting replacement part. be happy to show it to you when it's working, hopefully next week.
went to the usplastic website. should i be looking at the high-impact styrene sheets? or something else? and what about lithos. what do they sell for those?
thanks
went out and bought new air compressor, new shop vac, but before i could give the cw it's first total cleaning/lubing, the flexshaft assembly detached from the motor. haven't removed the head yet...
thanks for quick reply. i shall not fear what lays ahead.
getting .25in corian next week, hope the new flexshaft gets here soon
thanks bud, that's it. now, have you actually done it?
