I don't believe I would use this bit on acrylic with the Carvewright. The tightness of the twist would lead to clogging and then melting of the acrylic. This would be best for hard or fine grained...

The newer bit has 3 times the number of twists which will remove chips faster. Faster chip removal = cooler running bit.

If you can export a STL file or a Grey Scale height map you can import it into the Designer. Any other format and you will need another program.

I can see where getting from 3d to 2.5d would be a better method, but I'm not sure Daz will do that. What program are you using?

And I've found one solution, that is the unlink the scale factor on the STL importer and set the z axis to the depth I want to carve, .5 on these. I still lose detail but not as much. Still looking...

OK, made a carving using the 1/32 bit. Did a rough carve first with the 1/16 then dropped the depth .05 and carved again. Had no problems with the bit and it does seem to bring out a little more...
