I couldn't agree more. I would never cut Corian or anything other than wood intentionally. The carving bit broke because the Z axis just suddenly took a dive as far as I can tell. It hasn't done...

" IF you are doing a CUT PATH with Corian with a 1/8th inch Cutting Bit... The Corian being VERY DENSE can cause cutting problems as in the bit can't cut the stuff fast enough for the feed rate......

Absolutely correct. I can see where a lot of people might miss that. I did tighten it though and not by prying the slide out to add tension to the belt. That;s how bearing go bad.

I'm going to try tape on the bottom of the jig for the brass roller just in case ( ok , it's also the easiest solution) Still, that doesn't explain the Y axis problem.

I just replaced the bearings and gear for the Y axis. Also recently replaced the chuck with Carve tight. New rollers were installed then. I can't see that an the issue but I will check.

True, I fixed the axis problems. I managed to carve several more pieces. Then it began again....

The balck plastic disc on the rear of the motor slides off. Careful, it's longer on the bottom. I gently blew out a bit of dust and it's working fine now. .

I'm only a 3 hours behind my promised...

HA HA that might have helped if the Z motor was located there. At least it's now clean and lubed. I'll open up the Z motor instead.
