Love the eagle, will be using it. I know I would love to closer to Mugsowner for the poplar, guess I'd need a sawmill but that could be cheaper than years of buying wood.
Hope you both have a great...
Good thing to check. Have had problems with bowing of the board from end to end causing tracking errors. Any small 'dip' going over the tracking wheel can caude either a small shift in the pattern or...
Don't have answers for all your issues. I've used three dust collectors and all leave some dust, the carvewright model is my least favorite. I have started placing some masking/blue tape over any...
I agree with Mugsowner . Had a tracking issue myself and replaced the roller assembly. Took the old unit apart and found it full of fine dust. You might try cleaning yours.
Looks like you've found an answer for the need of a convenient charging place. Not sure if Android has the technology either but it is an obvious fix for those that need one. Shows what thinking out...
Thanks Jim, wife and I are tickled with the result. Appreciate the feedback, we have had that same discussion. I wasn't explicit when I said doorway. Should have said set back from but in line with...
Latest project is a beauty salon for my daughter-in-law in a pole barn at their house. Got the idea it would be neat to personalize the floor so I carved the business name into a piece of the vinyl...
That is so cool. I can see how the printer would be such a draw. You get to use your imagination in the conception, design it in the software, and then get to see the physical product in full 3D...
Glad to hear all your CNC abilities are a benefit with the 3d printer. Maybe watching it run will make you sleepy on those off nights. Know it's not carver but post a pic or 2 of your projects for...
Not a skill I have but am impressed by what I've seen others produce. Son-in-law got the bug for making knives from the TV show and has made some really beautiful ones. Thanks to Jims request I now...
Managed to get these done over the weekend. How to finish is always the issue but these weren't hard. Painting was tedious, used colored epoxy to fill the dates. Hadn't used epoxy on any carves but...
The new one looks better than the first. Have already run a test of the first one and did a quick paint. Notice the slight change in the shoe/cleat along with the ball. Really makes a big difference....
Looks good. Will try and get a test run. Agree on the weird, looks like a volleyball except the pattern. Paint should cure that ill.
Thank you!!!!
Realized I was about to commit a big no no. Now I need another favor. The tennis player has a younger sister who has taken an interest in soccer so obviously I can't make something for just one. Any...
Took a minute and ran a test carve. What's the odds of the only knot on the board being exactly where the tennis ball ended up. Didn't even think to check. Was just a test so no biggie . Like all...
Wow, like everything that is in our minds the amount of options make us think. The picture in my mind was sort of like option 2. But once I see the different ones you created I'm going to have to do...
Have come up with one. Have a granddaughter who is into tennis. My thought is something using two rackets crossed with the handles pointing down and a ball between them just below where they cross. ...
As my wife and I joke, something to 'ponder over'. Will let you know. Thanks for the offer of time and talent.
Got to thinking about your comment about the dust and opened the Tracking Sensor up(fortunately hadn't thrown away) and found it had a lot of dust. Cleaned it out, didn't see any physical issues so I...
Really turned out nice, Have the same issue with sanding. Tried a lot of ways but still hate it.
Finally getting there, must be better time management skills, can't be age.
Changed the Board Tracking Encoder. The carves were physically correct so I felt it wasn't losing info while carving but during relocation. Time will tell on both issues
Been working on some Xmas gifts early, got tired of last minute. Doing the Xmas tree dish for family. Found the Cut Path which is offset by appox 1/4 inch ended up wider on one side than the other....
Thank you !
