Which bit do you tell the machine to use when you use a keyhole bit?
A couple of weeks ago I finished my first attempt at making a litho. Not only was it my first litho but it was also one of the few projects I have made using a completely original design. I have done...
I'm trying to start a users group in the Southern California area. I am in Orange County, CA (specifically, Anaheim as the name would imply) but I am some what flexible about where within the So....
The short answer is, no.
~~~~OUCH!~~~~
By on its own circuit I am assuming you mean that the electrical circuit that it is plugged into is on a dedicated breaker that has a direct run back to the main electrical panel and that there is...
I'll chime in with a vote in favor of some discussion about sleds, that seems like a great idea. While there have been many (very helpful) posts related to that subject here on the forums; it seems...
I haven't done anything like that myself but I have read alot of comments from the guys on here who stain signs and such where they talk about coating the piece with sealer before applying the stain....
Just curious, have you tried carving one of these on a piece of scrap? I wonder could it be that it is just a display problem with the designer software or is it actually screwing up the MPC somehow?...
My only comment is that, if that is your budget then, you should give some serious consideration to a desktop machine or perhaps even a refurbished laptop bought straight from the manufacture...
The designer application is actually fairly intuitive. To their credit LHR has done an outstanding job with the GUI. I would think that just about anyone could pick up the basics realtively quickly...
Yeah what Jeff said. I have seen similar results and cleaned it up/got better results some by playing with the height of the lettering.
I can't identify it, perhaps someone else can but there is not much detail to that picture. Any chance you can get one that is focused better or shows the detail on the part a little better?
If your looking for clock mechanisms check out klockit. http://www.klockit.com/
Not sure how the prices compare but they sure seem to have one heck of a selection and they will ship you a catalog...
Bill,
I would call that in to LHR and get one of their techs on it. Sounds like, at the very least, they will need to send you replacement parts.
HEY LHR!
LOOK HERE LOOK HERE!!!
How about adding a dove tail bit to the bit set?
:)
I remember that post Daniel, it is what inspired me in the first place to want to try inlay with the machine.
Your comment about the bits makes allot of sense. I guess for this application the...
jlovchik,
Thanks for the response.
Just a thought and question rolled up into one. Over the course of the past few days a thought occurred to me, more than once. Perhaps if an announcement...
Tami,
I understand your frustration. Perhaps if you posted the project you are working on we could help you figure out what is going on.
I will assume that you ordered the bit set from LHR....
Bob I appreciate what your trying to say and I commend you and Jeff for your efforts. What I was alluding to with my statements about LHR is that it would have been nice to see some more of those LHR...
I was wondering about that same sort of technique for other inlay work. Please do keep us updated on your progress.
Thanks!
Dale
Please do, thanks Gene.
Nothing, really. I guess my only remaining question is, why didn't LHR explain it that way, in that plain, simple, well thought out, and easy to understand manner in the beginning so that we could...
Joe,
Go wired and see what happens.
I hope that fixes the problem. But, lacking a possible solution to the problem from going wired... here are some next steps that might help.
If the...
