In this file, there is a contoured oval centered with a max depth of .5 and the middle of the oval with no carve. I want to carve a rectangle overlapping the oval with no contour to the bottom. ...
Any suggestions for good software for rotating?
I know I can rotate by hand, but is there a way to input a rotation amount? I want to rotate by exactly 90 degrees.
I wanted to try the 3/16" carving bit but the shipping charge is really putting me off.
I was trying to fix a sign that got messed up during the cutout. The brass roller must have slipped and the cutout was off by 1/4" or so. The pattern I used for sort of a frame already have a...
I tested it on a piece of scrap and a depth .37 worked perfectly. I put in the actual piece I wanted routed and I get a "clear board sensor" error
I am trying to use the built-in function on the machine, not in the software
What should I set the depth to for a full 1/4" roundover?
preface - i don't have a router table, but I have roundover bits
I want to do a 1/4 roundover on all sides. When I tell it to do a depth of .25, it barely touches the wood. If I try .5, it tells...
make them bigger?
Thanks for the help. Ike, that's is what I tried, but it just won't work for me on this particular pattern - I did two others very similar that I am trying to carve all at once. I just copied and...
MPC attached
When I tell the software to outline the pattern, it gives me 5 different paths instead of one. One of these patterns looks like the whole outline, but I can't select Cut Path.
$150 is ridiculous! Maybe $25 per extra install would be worth it.
first line of Changelog for 1.175:
"Added Vector Conform feature, which allows vector paths to be mapped to a surface"
This is a feature I requested a while back, but I am lost on how to use it....
I needed deauth on Labor Day weekend - couldn't use the machine until Tues.
Why only two - can't we get 3 or 4? You can only use the software if you have a machine, but I have to pick one...
I've been trying to use the software on a PowerMac G5 (PPC running 10.5), and I have serious display trouble especially in the STL importer.
I've been trying to use the STL importer on my Mac at home, but it is nearly unusable. The Designer software has some glitches in the display, but the STL importer doesn't show the model or axises...
MDF makes a lot of fine dust that is bad for your health. The harder the wood, the better and cleaner the carves will be (generally), but harder wood is more work for the machine and more expensive....
I just installed my new CarveTight and I need some bits. Can you get the new pressed-on collar bits from anywhere besides CarveWright?
that answers all of my questions except one. When I order the carvetight, is the z-truck that I receive new or a refurbished one that someone else sent back for upgrade?
I know that this has been answered, but I can't find it. When I order the CarveTight, am I receiving it in a new z-truck or a refurb? Can I send my z-truck to get fitted and if so, how do I order...
can you post a pic? it would really help us to help you
Lowes has boards with square edges for cheap. They cost a bit more than the studs, but they are still relatively inexpensive.
Great tutorial! I will definitely use this technique.
