In my very first post, I was planning to use 3/4" Oak. Then I mentioned finding a 1" thick piece of HDPE that would be better. Then in my most recent post I mentioned doing test carves in 1/2" MDF...
The MDF was 1/2". The HDPE is 1", plus a 1/2" sheet of MDF under it as the sled. Set the total project height to 1.5" in the software when attempting the final carve in the HDPE.
It almost looks...
Well, I was going to go the route of the 1"x12"x18" HDPE. Found some stone textured spray paint and was going to paint the letters and graphics black...kind of a faux stone marker.
Did a couple...
Every time I load a board, and the machine measures it, it measures the width fine but just keeps rolling past the end of the board, and spits the board out; then gives me a tracking error then a...
haha, nevermind....discovered that I can "outline patterns", then use the v-bit to carve the outlines :)
I thought I remembered seeing somewhere, where there was an add on that would allow you to carve patterns like you can centerline text, but now I can't find it. Is there, in fact, such an add on?

Never thought about Corian. Looked and called around the shops in the area, but they all deal only with stone.
What about HDPE? Found a no frills cutting board on Amazon, 12"x18"x1". Kinda...
I'm carving a grave marker for a close friend of mine who recently lost her fiance.
I'm carving it out of oak, and plan to put SEVERAL coats of spar urethane on it. Any other special...
I'm trying to get a something like either (or both) of these, minus the grass and background):

Check out Design and Make: https://store.designandmake.com/shop/product/47
It's lacking in detail, but might get you started.
Anyone have a pattern (preferably 3D, but will consider other) for a Heeler or Australian Cattle Dog?
Want to make a memorial sign for a friend who lost her's a while back.
Thanks for the info so far.
Yea, I've purchased a few .stl models, and they work great, but I can't always find a model of what I want, or what I do find isn't exactly what I want.
I'll check...
What software do y'all use to create 3D patterns/objects?
I'm an intermediate graphic designer, and can use Adobe Illustrator to create a lot of objects, but have trouble creating rounded, 3D ones...
Thanks for the help. I sent an email to Design & Make...they've done artwork for me before and added it to their store. Hopefully they'll be able to do it again.
Looks good, and I was able to produce the same thing, but I want more rounded edges on the design. Everything looks too flat.
Thanks for your effort though!
haha, fair enough...

Looking for a good source of family crest elements.
Design and Make has some pretty good models, but not the ones I need.
The "cap" you mention is what goes behind the canvas, and then snaps into the back of the other part with the bungees. Yes, the assembly does have a hole in it, but it wasn't meant for a screw.
...
Thanks for the link; however, I can pick those single end connectors up on amazon or a couple other places as well.
Both of the aforementioned suggestions are for the Stayput, tarp bungees that I mentioned. Those are the ones I'd have to drill out the center hole in an attempt to get them to work.
Not Carvewright-specific, but...Is there a U.S. manufacturer of a bungee loop similar to this, with both ends of the bungee coming into a single attachment point?

Both of these images...
Brushes have been replaced, so those have been ruled out.
Been having problems with my cut motor's RPM's idling down to nothing about a minute or so into a carve (truck still goes back and forth/up & down, just no spinning).
Finally got around to looking...
Well, I installed new brushes, but the motor still idles down to nothing a minute or so into the carve. Now what? :(
Ordered new brushes, so hopefully that is the issue.
Thanks for the comments!
