Roque Bluffs Maine i on the coast near Machias. (down East)
I just got back to Maine from Florida and got my machine up and running. I made a test cut of some bear patterns I have been working on. Would have looked if I had used a darker wood.
It took 11 hours to carve on the optimal setting.
Have had a good summer in Maine. Now time to go back to Sarasota. So wanted to send a couple pictures of projects . The first is an alter table for my chruch in Sarasota and the second is a plaque I...
Take the cover off the Z encoder and clean out any dust. Also make sure the encoder disk is tight on the shaft.

Yes the wood is poplar and the design is one that I have in the pattern store.
This is a plaque for a friend that has been lucky in catching tripletail fish.
The wood is popular and is a two side carve.
It is coated with minwax antique oil.
I made this table as a serving bar. The wood is old growth sunken maple. The front carve is 7 feet long and took 12 hours to carve. All the deer and tree patterns are in the store by vendor Ray Lane....

Askbud it was nice of you to highlight the patterns just approves today. I submitted them almost 2 weeks ago. I have about 20 more to submitt. Mostly wild life and pets. thanks again Ray Lane
I had the same problem with the depth climbing or going deep into the wood with long carves. I posted on this befor. What I found was that the encoder disk was loose on the motor shaft.(on both the Z...
Yes both sides, the back, and the underside of the shelf are all grooved.
I installed my rock chuck this spring and used 5 min. epoxy to make the stops for my old CW tools. I put the epoxy ring down next to the taper so the ground flats were above where the rock chuck...
This is a 7 foot long shelf designed in pattern editor and cut with the CW. it was for a neighbor.
wood is select pine
coating is min wax dark walnut with poly
This spring I had the same problem. I checked the Z motor encoder disk and it was loose on the shaft. I also checked the Y encoder and found the same problem. I put a drop of epoxy to lock the...
I have the rock chuck and have used the probe and it works very well. When I took off the tool holder I had to sand a little to get the deformed area off where the set screw dug into the plastic.
Take the back cover of the y and z servo motors and check that the encoder disk is tight on the shaft and in the center of the sensor slot. If it spins on the shaft put a drop of locktight in the...
Wy machine was getting more and more unstable in the z and y axis movement. The z axis would either climb or go down as the carve was being made. The y axis speed was erratic and it would loose its y...
I thaught I uploaded 3 pics. Will try again.
Spent the winter in Florida but had to leave my CW in Maine. Now I have returned to Maine I have started up my machine again. Spent the first week scanning in some art work I did while in Florida....
A very thought provoking project. Excellent job in glue up and planning. A true craftsman
I agree with Roughcut fully. 3 months ago I posted a thread stating that if a ball was stuck the worst thing you could do is to use the extract tool and force it. It just damanges the QC and the tool...
For those of you that asked about the moose pattern that I carved and put on my friends wall, it is now listed in the pattern depot. I have 3 of my patterns there now. I want to thank you all for the...
Henry1 The attachments are there now do not know what the problem is.
Dan I would like to take the CW to Florida but do not have a place to run it there. I will just work on my pattern art and...
