Taz, I am all the way in Dallas Texas, but if you happened to be visiting here, I'd be glad to demo the machine for you. Not sure if this is what you were looking for.

Munawar

Thanks guys. I blew compressed air and lube the rails with some oil. I can move the cutter head up and down and side to side easy enough; although easier with power off than on. With doing all of...
I just got this error after cutting a piece couple of days ago just fine. Checked the forum but couldn't find any help on this. Can we anyone help me out right quick, pleeeese?

That's a great looking sign. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the logo in? It looks really good. I guess painting you did with an artist brush very carefully?
Thanks

Guys, I saw the Gunk Chain Lube at Home Depot as well. However, before I went to Home Depot, I found Coastal Industrial Moly EP Grease in a can, which has Molybdenum Disulfide in it. The engineer...
Dan, I thought I understoon vector, but I don't. Can you help me with a little explanation or example, please? Also, how do you convert text to vectors? Is that same thing as selecting raster...
How about using the 90-degree V-groove bit and adjusting depth. Would that give you enough taper? I presume you want to taper sort of in a cone shape, right?
I actually let it carve first. Then after sanding, and I sanded the rose with sponge type sand, I applied a quote of shellac. Then I stained the rose and the letters with a artist brush carefully. ...
Thanks you all. Both of your suggestions definetly gives me ideas and even inspiration.
Thanks

Guys, I know this is touchy question, but I am too trying to figure out how to sell some my signs and work in Dallas area. But I am very new to woodworking industry and have no idea on pricing the...
Wow Juno, your attempt looked real good. I wish I could manipulate images like that. If you feel like teaching, I am ready to learn anytime.
Thanks

Did you crank down the head to pressure on the board? I am not sure but maybe that gear pushs down flat once the head is down on it.
This is another project with front and back carving. I made a little square mortise in the back for square pegs to recline the sign when sitting on a desk. This is made on simple white pine; hence...
I finally made something I can sort of show off. Any constructive suggestions are more than welcome.
Thanks

He has met me at his shop two Sundays to help me with my machine and spend many hours on each day.
I asked the same question with CW people. They said the sensors are fairly sturdy and you can use compressed air. I use vacuum for most of the chunk and then blow with about 40psi or so just...
Both of you are correct. Aaron, I did mean like that and currently I do type in letter at a time like CAJUNPEN suggested. Just thought there might be a better way.
Thanks

Hey cw gurus
Anyone know how to arrange lettering vertcally? I don't mean writting then changing angle to 90 degrees.
Thanks
When you have carvings close to the edge, the software ask for auto jig or manual jig,.... If you pick auto jig, it ask for bigger board in the machine, but then the only choices you get is to scale...
I had that happen to me too and it was bowed board as well. Let us know what was the problem on yours and what worked.
Thanks, I'll try it, but I wanted something smaller for when I want to put things as "From Munawar" on the back of signs and boxes.
Hello carvers. What is a good font for small size text, such as 1/4" or 1/2" high. I have tried Arial and Times Newroman with 60 and 90 degree bits, but no good.
Thanks

I usually have to finigle with the bit holder to lock the bit in or sometimes to take it out even. As for the heat, I think it has to do their revised design or the chuck which is on much tighter...
My carving bit did the same thing, but after letting the machine cool off for a night and little wiggling did the trick. Turns out there was ever slight bit of rust on it. Guess the collet is very...
