Just recieved the "Fatal Error(2)!" message when I was trying to cut out an 11/2" thick board. Is 1" the max it will cut out? Can it be fooled or do I need to get out the scroll saw?

Yes. Thankyou both.
I do remember the V-bit hitting the flag with its side and not the tip.
This would account for the added depth. A build up of sawdust was probably the problem.
Thanks again
After a carving was complete, it asked for the 60 deg vector bit to create and oval around the carving. It went thru the bit find process, spun up and started to its beginning location only to drag...
After almost 3 months of use, I am finally experencing the pain of some of you out there. Of the last 4 projects, three have died with a Z-Axis stall with error codes 236 and 246. The one that made...
PKUNK,
Thank you. That's good news.
I just ordered my probe and was wondering if the odometer on the machine continues to 'clock the miles' during a scan. After reading some of the threads, it appears scanning ornate objects can take a...
Yes. They will honor orders made prior to today, according to CW.
I decided yesterday to order the probe. Called CW only to find out they also increased the cost to $400.00 this morning. I was told it has to do with the contract they have with Sears. If Sears...
MrUserfriendly,
It is a JET DC-650A, manufactured by WMH TOOL GROUP (wmhtoolgroup.com )
They cost about $200.00 and are carried by most good quality tool outlets.
Sorry---I ment 30 psi
I have been reading all the posts on dust collection and here is what I came up with.
Not wanting to raise the height of the machine anymore, I drilled a series of 3/4" holes (18 total) in a 2 1/4"...
I was also running a project yesterday and the last function was to call for the 1/8" cutting bit. After I installed it, the machine started the bit find process but when it moved to the far side the...
Will do. Thanks
Thank you! When I designed it I added the 7" to the project but kept telling it to 'stay under rollers', hence my problem.
Is it ok to run the project the way it is and not tell it to stay under...
The project called for a width of 14.5" and a length of 21". The machine would read the width as 14.021/21 not 14.5/21 and would ask if I should scale to length.
After repeated attempts to fix...
Had my first problem with the machine this morning.....homing sensor. I checked in with the forum and found out about the upgrade to 1.119. Loaded, flashed and ran. No more problem!
I have been using walnut without any problems. And yes, it does carve very clean.

Thank you very much. I"ll give them both a try.
You now have got me thinking (sometimes dangerous) when you said the bit was designed to cut steel. Is it possible to carve shallow...
Has anyone tried to carve ebony? I have some 3/4" stock and would like to carve some rosettes for a mirror frame I am making, but I am afraid it will eat my bit.
Also, I was going to try and carve...
I just received my order of bits and adapters from Carvewright. These were ordered 5 weeks ago and I was told they would not ship until about mid-February.
Things are looking up! And the machine...
Mine worked out of the box and after (7) projects it continues to run great. I did have a bit drop out during a cut-out but a little lock-tight (blue)and a check with each use solves that problem. I...
I have Corel X3 on order but have loaded the trial verson of Xara. I appear to be graphically challanged. I can't figure out how to apply the grayscale gradients to a figure.
I'm sure it is a...
Aaron,
Thank you, I will give it a try.
I have yet to apply a cut path to a project. If I am using a 3/4" board, what do I set the cut depth at? Does the CW cut all the way through, just leaving the tabs? What about the belt under the...
I've had my machine about a week now and the only problem I have is me. The machine does exactly what it is told to do, that is , carving my mistakes.
As soon as I figure out the design process I...
