Yes Craig, I tried in designer and feathering seems to smooth the inside of the oval somewhat not completely, I couldn't figure out Al's comment, I'll keep trying..

I see that you use the sanding sealer on all of your projects, is the fuzzies the only reason you use it? Will the wood still take a stain with the sealer?

That looks great, I guess you can spray a stain for the background and hopefully you can wipe stain off of the shellac area?
Are you sure the board is square and has a straight edges, you may have the sliding square too tight against it and binding the board, making it slip at spots.

I have carved three of them with no problem, it looks like something has slipped, not tracking right, did you get any errors? I have learned from Al, masking tape does wonders.
