Also, if you are placing centerline text in a carve region you will need the Conforming Vectors add-on. If you already have it just click on the "Conform" box on the toolbar.
Thank you all for the kind words. I am really happy that I could help others "see the light" and build their confidence and abilities in trying new things. To me, designing the project is half of the...
I just sold my Carvewright machine along with all extra parts and accessories so my participation here on the forum will be limited. However, I will be checking back from time to time. It was a...
A happy Thanksgiving to all of my Carvewright friends. I hope this day finds each and everyone joy and happoness in spending the day with friends and family.
I don"t know. There have been others in the past that have had trouble also.
Compensation isn't necessary. It was fun and I'm glad I can help. With that said, no guarantees. I haven't carved it.
EDIT: In retrospect, you may have to reduce the board and the pattern size. I...
I uploaded this to the forum about 4 years ago. You are welcome to use or modify it as you please. The board thickness of the top is .625" to reduce the bulkiness but it can be changed if you don't...
Ron Justice is the original supplier/manufacturer of the Rock Chuck and you might find some answers on his website at Cw-Parts.com. I'm not sure if he is still operational but he has a video on...
Try re-formatting the data card and re-flash the firmware. It may not solve the problem but it's a good place to start. Also, check the ffc cable for flaws or loose connections.
I thought your idea of a single wedge shaped drain channel at the bottom looked better so I changed mine.
Here's my stab at it. I modeled it from scratch but I didn't use the Designer.
MPC is too large for the website. Here is a link to download it and the pattern.
EDIT: Project edited for slightly...
I snapped a couple of them myself. What finally worked for me was a short section of 1/2" round steel rod (Home Depot) heated to white hot with a map gas/butane torch and inserting it into the chuck....
Man, that's half of the fun!
There are several horseshoe patterns in the pattern depot.
The wiring for the right cover switch travels down the inside right corner of the machine. It's difficult to see even with a flashlite. The Y motor housing hits the wiring and limits the travel....
IMO (In My Opinion)
Since you already have merge turned on for all of the objects in your project I'm going to assume you already know what it is and where to turn it off.
Lori,
Just suggestions to make it look a little better (IMO). Remove the "merge" from everything. Then adjust the heights, depths, bit optimization, sizes, kerning, and spacing.
Wow Michael. That must have taken awhile to model.
Address your slippage problem first. Setting the max pass depth may help.
I wouldn't use the 3/8 cutting bit. There are too many little crevices where even the 1/8" bit has some difficulty.

You are either in "Demo" mode or you didn't install the Designer as "Administrator"
Maybe something like this?
He did! See post #294 in this thread. It's right under the pictures.
Coats of stain: It depends on the look you are after. The more coats, the darker the project. Use a sanding sealer like de-waxed shellac first. Especially on porous wood.
Coats of Poly: When I use...
Maybe these .dxf files will help get you started.
