Question: With the rotary jig, would it be possible to rough-out first with the 1/8" deep-carve bit, then go back over the piece with the 1/16" for better detail -- or is that asking for trouble?

Yes, using the deep bit, but it's gouging across the grain.

  4. Rotary jig: Bit suddenly gouges into part-off

Carve began normally, but after a few minutes, the belt suddenly jerked, sending the bit gouging into the uncut piece -- and all the way through the part-off.

I stopped the porject, started again...

A closer look revealed that one of the belt-track rollers was too tight. Loosening it so that the wheel could roll seems to have solved the problem.

    Rotary jig belt jumping

On the rotary jig, the toothed rubber belt tends to jump its wheel track, riding over towards the work piece.

    Any suggestions for adjusting this?

    Thanks!

    Centerline in 1.150

I am also having a problem with centerline carving using 1.150.

It seems to repeat what's already been cut, doubling the carving time.

    Thanks Jeff,

I've imported that image successfully into 1.131, saved it,
and then opened the saved file into 1.134 with no problem
(the image is then in the pattern library),
    but if I try to...

    Still crashes with image import.
  12. 1.134 crashes when importing image for pattern

In the new upgrade, every time I attempt to save a png file into patterns, the program crashes, disappears.

    Any ideas?

    Rotating cut paths

Anyone know a good way to rotate a cut path 90 degrees?

The software looks quick, though -- and can import LINE ART.

When will CW software be able to do that?

BTW, that demonstrator needs a dust mask and hearing protection.
