If your sled is a dark material (close to the color of the traction belts) you can run into problems. The optical sensor can have a hard time identifying the wood (sled).

It's the RPM sensor magnet inside of the cut motor. It is really nothing to worry about.

My toolbars/buttons may be in a different place than yours. This is usually dependent upon the resolution of the monitor you are using.

It should work just fine. The firmware is just telling the machine how to operate. Since you have a new firmware (AKA control logic) it will carve the project with the new instructions.
