Tongue and Groove boards
Saw some pretty wood at Home Depot, and was debating on its usefulness for carving...

If I glued up two or three boards, using the natural tongue and groove in it to align them, would it be okay to carve?

I think you would have to rip off the tongue and grove and glue together. The tongue and grove gaps would ruin a carve if you carved down to them.
-
It might be good for vector type carvings as they would not go deep into the tongue and groove joints.

I use tongue and groove scraps for projects. I use the machine to rip cut the tongue and groove off before starting.

I would probably check the tongue thickness and make my pattern wasn't as deep and use the depth to my pattern accordingly.
