Domes and textures

Hello fellow carvers.

I have come here often for advice and there has always been an answer but I have not been able to find one
for this problem, my guess is I'm doing something wrong. I have a
project that requires a double down dome and when I add texture to
the done I lose the dome when I adjust the texture so I can see the
carving. There must be a way to merge the texture to the dome. Any
ideas?

Duplicate the oval, clear the texture from the copy and use Select Surface to create the dome. Click on Merge Additive. I would not use Merge Additive on the pattern as you have done.
