Is this equivalent to a CarveWright rev. A? I'm skittish about it, but am willing to consider all options to shave costs to the bone. I know how that sounds, but it's an unfortunate reality.

Carvewright sold a unit through Sears called Compucarve. Same unit as the Carvewright, just a different name. But, Understand that the "A" machines sometimes have problems, and "need" upgrades that may cost $$. If you are trying to SAVE, that may not be the way to do it.
Personally, I think that's too expensive for the Compucarve. That's what I had before and it does cost about $200 to upgrade. I actually sold my used Compucarve WITH the upgrades for $400.
Gotcha. Thanks.
