new at cnc work

Good afternoon i am new at this still trying to figure out how to raise pattern from the wood im useing. which is clean pine. i did review the learning guide 2.1 just dont think im doing something right it just dont come up high enough and patterns are very rough. i do understand that the patterns need lots of sanding but still i dont see much difference from a best carve to a opt. carve even useing a 1/32 carve bit vs useing a 1/16 bit. any tips would like to see where im going wrong
