Here's a pattern that was freely offered up on the artcam forum-- I had to do quite a bit of work to clean it up, but it seemed to come out quite nicely in the end. Hope you all enjoy it- please stop me if these patterns start getting too redundant or y'all think I should slow down. This really is a blast, and though it is getting easier with each pattern, I must admit that I still have the utmost respect for those out there making the patterns completely from scratch-- the learning curve is quite steep.
Lawrence
Keep them coming Lawrence, I did the same thing when I first got into Silo, it is a great way to learn and review how the patterns are created.
Oh that one is very good, again thanks.
Yep.. there can never be too many patterns! Great job! I need to pair down some of my hobbies. I don't have enough time for any of them :(
"please stop me if these patterns start getting too redundant or y'all think I should slow down"
Lawrence, Did you bump your head just as you were posting that ?? Never stop sharing those Great patterns.

"I need to pair down some of my hobbies. I don't have enough time for any of them "

Ed
Great pattern Lawrence ... I'm with Eddie - keep them coming.
Nice pattern. Thanks , Lawrence Capt Barry
Beautiful job Lawrence!! Thanks for all your hard work!
thanks all... I've gotten a request for the pattern without the lettering here it is.
Again, thanks for all the words of encouragement and support-- I've learned from you all the last couple of years and am glad that I am able to give back a little.
Lawrence

Im at work right now so i cannot look into it. I'll look tonight but i do not think that there was a back. I may be able to make one from the front as a pattern
Sent from my MOTWX435KT using Tapatalk
that would be great thank you in advance
sorry guys... no back to be found... and I'm not yet experienced enough. I won't give up, but don't count on it/certainly don't count on it happening soon.
Maybe someone else with more 3d experience-I can email the STL to someone, but even zipped it is 23mb so cannot be uploaded here
Lawrence
More GREAT WORK !!!!
THANKS !!!!
AL
Lawrence do you have Pattern Editor? if so save the file as a mpw, and upload it here. We can take that and create the stl from it.
and check your pm for message.
it was still too big to send Eddie, how do I load an MPC here? It is still too big when zipped for some reason
Lawrence check your pm and send it via email. The mpw as saved from pattern editor will allow editing the file, and saving it to STL format.
A .3ds file of a similar nutcracker can be downloaded here: http://archive3d.net/?a=download&id=15350 If I was at home, I would convert it to .stl slice it and post it here.
But,, again my job is interfering with my fun.
Ed
This is the nutcracker (modified) that edzbaker gave a link to. Showing a front and back of the model. I removed the base, and back handle since it would not carve right with the handle.
This is just the model right now.
Notice it does not have an actual face, or mustache as show in the image on the site. The model shown there was a surface painting (render).
Thus it can be painted as shown in the image below, or I can add the extra features, so it will be easier to paint them.
Decided to make the pattern without the details. May add details later if I find an interest.
Edit: This sounds bad, it should say if there is enough interested in the pattern.
I took the image of the nutcracker provided by Lawrence, and from there I created an STL file, and started modeling on it. Here is the front and back of his nutcracker. (front is the same as he uploaded)
Man, thanks Eddie- that's awesome!
Lawrence
Thank you eeland, will do one today! can those nutcracker be done in PTN file
Henry, open the MPC file, then click the extract patterns icon and it will extract the patterns to a place you choose in your favorites. See image below.
I was just going to tell you that lol I did it and works great carving it as I am typing will paint it when finish I will post it thx again
Keeping with Oct theme, here is a pattern some may want. It is too large to fit here, so the pattern is on my site under shared patterns-holidays. Yes this is a shared pattern so feel free to download it. Instructions for downloading is on the shared pattern section. There is no need to register or log in.
I uploaded the PTN here, see they have increased the size limit.
Very nice pattern Eddie, Thanks for sharing!!

The folder is zipped and contains both MPC files ...
the top file is set to be cut out of 1/8th inch Baltic birch with the 1/16th cutting bit
the bottom file is 3/4 inch stock and has a slot for the "Happy Halloween" to stand up in and 2 cut outs for tea light candles
I just sprayed the bottom black and painted the top orange for the letters and then painted the ghost white ... enjoy
