Roger and Sharon,
Like they say about the CW, GET IT OUT OF THE BOX! and use it! ;)
Nice work. I bet he will buy a machine after seeing your work.
Very Impressive....

I had a wood carver rent from me for awhile and we made castings and 2 part epoxy duplicates of some of his work to scan so as not to scratch the original. The carves came out very good. This one of Mother Teresa is about 10" tall.
Howdy Paul,
Thanks for the stop by! If I did not have the plastic tips for the probe I might not have tried this. They really help to protect the surface of the object being scanned.
Sad to say.
I have had the probe for 5 years and never used it.
I keep saying or thinking about getting it out and doing something with it, yet still have not.
When I see what you did Floyd with the probe, it makes one want to get to it.
I just got my scanning probe out and was reading the instructions. The instructions tell me to contact carvewright for plans for the sled. Is the sled for the probe different than what we would use for carving out a small pattern. If so, does anyone have instructions for the construction of the scanning probe sled?
I have been requested to replacate some rosettes out of Azek for a house restoration and want to get started as soon as possible. Thanks for your help and advise.
Gene,
Trying looking at these http://www.carvewright.com/2010CWweb...probevideo.php

The scanning sled needs to have raised sides to get the head and rollers above the object being scanned...
OH YEA! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Thanks again for you help. I will try to get my sled built this weekend and get to scanning.
