Bits may be it

Y rail stalls and errors plaque me. I cleaned and lubed everything to no avail. Then as I was trying to carve a light colored maple I noticed black specs of saw dust. First thought it was from the wood, but there was no black in the wood anywhere. Finally decided it must be burnt from the bit.
Changed to a new bit and stalls are gone. To late to the first damaged board but I did flip it over and can make it work.
Before you change bearings, belts and motors, it may be the bit dull.
Waiting to see how this project does all the way though. Pretty sure full bit was a big part of my problem.

Yep, I put on a new, I mean new out of the box bit and now have carved 2 more projects since. Imagine, I often overlook the simplest of answers.
