I need to make a few Gentleman's Valet trays and I realize I can make the recessed areas by doing recessed squares, rectangles, etc. but I want to make the feather a little more rounded like you see in the third picture. Additionally, I would like to make the corners a little more rounded like in picture 1 and 2. Thoughts, ideas, words of wisdom? anyone made any of these and have any tips?

Four straight lines and four arched lines for the corners.
Ok, for some reason my brain is not grasping this. After drawing the lines and arcs for the corners, how do I turn the area into a carved region? how can I get the gentle curved sides with a 1/8' or 1/16' bit without moving to a cove bit? I appreciate the help.
I have no idea what size you want but here is a quick attempt. I think the feather is what you want for the sides.
Thank you, That looks amazing and I can size it to what I need. Couple of questions:
1. What am I doing wrong that after I connect the lines there is no option for carved region?
2. What bit is this going to cave with, because it doesn't give an option to choose bit?
3. Is it possible to curve the inside edges instead of slope and how do I make it do that?
4. Is there a tutorial for this? I looked but couldn't find one.
I appreciate all the help, trying to learn so of this stuff that I never do with the CW as projects present themselves.

1. Your lines must not be closed. Use the snap grid (0.25) and drag the last dot onto the first dot until you see the cross appear.Quote:

This was done using the Advanced 3d Pattern Modeling Suite with Bubble and then inverting it. Nothing else was changed.
