I take it you are getting this on the calibration steps on a dowel?
Yes. When it turns the board around 3 times.
Your number do look like they is a big difference for the old and new. How many times did you try it and did you check your head pressure?
The jig calibration is very finicky. Make sure the jig is tight against the squaring plate and clamped down as tight as possible under the head. Remove and reclamp until the calibration falls within range.
I tried it 3 times. Its late and I have checked head pressure, I will tomorrow. When it turn the board around it stops about 1/2 turn short.
Thanks. I knew when it went right in no problem some thing would happen
I plan to use one machine solely for that job.
Also, the wing nuts work loose. Once, during a carve, one of them actually fell down on the the rubber belt. I didn't notice it until the carve was finished so I was just lucky that it didn't bind anything up. A lock nut behind the wing nuts solved the problem.
I put lock nuts (regular nuts) on the other side of the tubes. Once the wing nuts were close, I spin the lock nuts up to the tubes and then tighten the wing nuts against them.
I am having the same issue with my machine that is only 6 months new. Head pressure is normal 80 lbs on a new scale. All alignment marks line up perfectly, I ran the calibration 15 consecutive times with the same result, calibration error _calibration out of range! What next
