Thanks jlovchik for the blog article and to all others for the compliments on my South Coast Topper top hats.
I take commissions for them if anyone is interested.
With the CW abilities I can make the "opening" fit any head perfectly.
Truly a custom wearable.

While thinking about other possibilities for wearables I remembered a costume piece I had made with the CW a few summers ago. For a downtown event called Treasurefest we wanted to have a live mermaid. As it turns out you can buy mermaid tails online but the good ones are many hundreds and even thousands to buy. Enter the Carvewright.
First carved a mold for the tail...

then filled it twice with clear silicone to make two half "flippers". Glued the two back to back with a mesh liner woven into a pair of sneakers sized for our mermaid model. Painted them up and voila...

Add one very attractive and cooperative helper and we had a live mermaid complete with a realistic flipping flipper. The kids (and adults) loved her.

Not a practical wearable but she did wear it all day.
Cool! Another blog post candidate. Nice fin!
The Top Hat and Bow Tie are awesome. I was thinking of something like that, but you have hit a home run sir.
I was in my woodshop the other day and thought of trying to make a neck tie out of wood because I remembered seeing someone with one a few years ago so........... here's my prototype. I still have a way to go on tweaking it out. So far a few people have seen it and I've received more "good" responses than "bad" ones. Ha Ha One guy called it a "N.C." tie..... "No Class" tie. LOL

Thank you chebytrk.
All this brainstorming about wearable carvings reminded me of a project I started but never finished. I designed it and uploaded to the CW card but never got around to carving it.
So...today is the day...
Here is the first prototype.
Needs some more tweaking and then will carve out of 1/4 inch bamboo panels...
to make custom...
wearable...
