    Creating a Carved Effect without using the Feathering Feature

    Goal: Combine two patterns to achieve the look of one pattern being carved into another pattern, such as the Indian maiden carved into a tree slab.

    I learned something new today and thought I would share...

    If you place a closed shape on a project board, you can either apply a dome to it or a textured surface, but not both. Right?! Right, but here is a "work around".

    How to Create A Textured Dome:

    From the Drawing Tools select a closed graphic and add it to the project board.
    Assign Carve Region.
    Add an identical shape (copy and paste).
    From the Carving List select both and align the two shapes (right click Align - Top and then Align - Left is how I did it).
    Select one from the Carving List and change it to a dome using Select Surface.
    Select the other one from the Carving List and give it a texture using Select Texture.
