Hey Calling in from Canada, West Coaster now formerly from the Canadian Rockies. Bought my Carvewright B machine in 2006, still working but no hours, meter never worked? Now part of Mens Shed where I will let other Golden grumpies use my machine if it holds out. Several Questions:

1. Have Designer 1.188 still in use on an old win 10 computer, my 2nd computer with win 11, reset and lost Designer setting on it, am I out of luck?

2. If I purchase Designer 5 does centerline text carve still work on it?

3. Any other tricks or tips on setting up designer 5 on a old machine.

4. Any thoughts on that free G-coder uses on other machines, ie the Good, Bad or Ugly.

Have a Great Day

Cheers

My first Native American drone flute. Not traditional construction in any way. Eastern red cedar, maple for the mouth piece, light walnut for center block.

Learned tons from it. As my first drone flute it is far from perfect. It is essentially two flutes you play as one. I made it in the note of E.

Things that are off:
The top note on the playing flute is E flat. So when the two flutes harmonize they sound a little off. To make it sharper I would need to make the finger hole bigger but it is already fairly large so leaving it as is. Also I made the mouth holes to far apart. Really needs to be way closer to play comfortably.

Four coats of poly. Had a little bit of run so need to lightly sand tomorrow and apply another coat.

Hello group,

My name is James and I have CarveWright ver C that I have used for years, love the machine and software. My question is I was wondering what other users are using for dust collection for their CarveWright? I am in the process of setting up my new shop and I don't have any of my Onieda dust collection cyclone or lines up yet. I was wondering if anyone was using a large shop vac for collection? I have 6.5 HP Dewalt connected to a mullet cyclone separator and was going to use it for the time being to do some carves with until I get the big system put back up. Would like to hear if anyone has used a shop vac and if so what issues did they have? I know the shop vac's are not designed for long time continuous use but I don't want to speed money on a stand/cart mounted cyclone fan type system since I already have one. Thanks in advance
