Lost files

I have Designer 3,4 and 5 on my system. I recently realized that anything that was created in Designer 3 cannot be seen in 4 or 5. When I try to open them, the files do not appear in the menu. I currently need o put an old Designer 3 file into Designer 5. Any ideas on how to do that?

Merging Basic Pattern Files

I just downloaded Designer 5 after using the free software I used for years with my 'A' model CarveWright, but it added another 'Basic' file of patterns. I would like to merge these two files as they have some new and some old patterns. Has anyone figured out how to merge/copy these patters across the files?
