I've had some chipping with various fonts, on cedar and oak boards. Do you please have guidance on which fonts tend to not chip out?

I haven't had any real problems with Centerline, but there are some things to consider when using the raster mode.

When designing your project, make sure you zoom in close to the letters, and take a good look at how they will carve. Letters that have a narrow profile will cause problems (in other words, letters that are too small to carve well).

Also, use the Draft function when rastering letters - that gives the letter a nice slope on the sides, helping to eliminate chip-out.

If you have an mpc you can share that demonstrates your problem, I'm sure someone can give you some pointers.

I like Ariel Bold for Centerline Text.

I also like Modern Font and Outline and a 3/8 inch bit. Set the depth to .1 for a flat bottom text that cuts FAST and Customers love.

AL

The top sign looks good with the 3/8 inch bit but the bottom W was missing some of it due to the thickness of the 3/8 inch bit. I might try that one with a smaller bit next time. For 2 inch high letters it works.

Where do you download the fonts to?

Ed - the link is a "How To install a font". I'm assuming you have a Windows bases OS so if otherwise, this won't work. :)
