Hi I'm fairly new to the CW software, I do have a background in CNC, but this is extreamly different than what I'm used to. I've attatched a picture of what I'd like to create.. Basically its a split spindle or half round. I've tried to do this myself and have searched on here, but can't seem to find anything. I'd like to get a quick list of steps to follow to achieve that, or if someone has a spare minute to draw one up really quick, then I can look at what you did.. would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Try this:
Place your rectangle on the board.
Click on the "Select Surface" Icon and go to the "DOME" option.
Pick the Vertical Dome and then adjust the Depth & Height to get the shape you wish.
Remember that your limit is about one inch in depth.

Some projects are better/faster done with a tool other than the CW.

Thank you for your reply. I was able to get that step going with your instructions. Now here is the next piece that I'm having trouble with. I can't seem to get the turnings at the top to look half round, they look straight on my screen.

Same thing, I think. Just start with the Oval, and do the same type process.

I think this is what he is trying to accomplish. It is a combination of vertical domes, horizontal domes, a carve region and additive merger and subtractive merge. If you open the carving list, you will get a better idea of what elements are used and the settings for each.

That's pretty cool it can do that. It's just too bad there isn't more control over the domes, like forcing a set arc so that it would be a true semicircle.

Perfect! thank you for uploading that. You made exactly what I was looking for! Now I just need to keep playing with what you did, so I can do this on my own:) is the max depth going to be an inch? or are there larger bits available that will achieve say, a 1.5" depth?

The software only allows up to .8" carving depth and 1" cutting depth.
