Text/Pattern & Edge??

Quick measurement question Gang. When setting up a design (no cut paths/cutouts) How far from the edge of the board should it be placed to maintain a crisp carve? I thought it was something like .5, but can't recall. :confused: Already setting up carves for 09. Where'd the time go???:D

Unless using rails/sleds I'd leave at least 1/2" on the top and bottom for the rollers to roll on.

At least 1/2" is recommended, but on my grill and dentil molding project yesterday i only left 1/32" on both sides of the top. I did get an error message but hit ignore and did't have any problems at all. I thick I would leave 3/4" on the bottom of the wood for the tracking sensor and at least 1/2" on the top from the edge on both edges.
