It's winter in South Dakota
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below
Oh, how I love South Dakota
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave South Dakota
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground

Merry Christmas all and if you have to travel be same

T'was the night before Christmas and all you could hear
Was the whine of my carvewright hittin' high gear
Sawdust was flyin'
filling the air
then a sensor went out
so I reached for my spare
Rats I don't have one, now what to do
Then I thought, call LHR and they'll overnight it to you
Standing by the road in snow to my bum
My butt is getting cold
and my legs they are numb
I hate to think it but the truth seems to be
ups isn't going to deliver it to me
the snow is to deep for the drivers to try
So I ski back to the shop with a sigh
Santa is screwed for this year it looks like
More parts on the shelf next year to avoid such a plight
Send the wife to the store for gifts to buy
cuz I couldn't finish them no matter how hard I try
Ratz

Merry Christmas to all.

terry

your poem describes my last week to a tee. a perfect poem my wife says.

next year i will have extra parts and hopefully another carver to backup the first.

my carver has a attitude i think

if you have to meet a deadline it acts up lol

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Yep, I think it's programed into the firmware.

UPDATE: Ups finally delivered my parts. Ordered second day air delivery. Only took seven days. Funny, it seems like three weeks. I was walking out into the shop and just standing there. Withdrawal symptoms starting to creep in. Jonesin' in the shop. I think my family has an intervention planned.

i git my board sensor yesterday and install it after work this afternoon

did a test carve and it turned out great thank god

only problem now is im getting a close cover message three or four times

i dont do any thing and it say hit enter and it starts up goes 30 seconds and repeats. by the time i g et to the carver it says hit enter to proceed.

im going to look into it more tomorrow after ice fishing and see if i can shim it down a little.

i dont know if i can stand another week of no machine.

one question? are any of these sensors covered under warrranty?

Happy New Year all

Outside of the new machine warrenty I think most parts have a seperate warrenty also. Not sure but I know they replaced my scanning probe after about 7 months for free. I was willing to pay for a new one but they sent it no charge.

I just dealt with the exact same thing. It's 2am and I'm running a deadline for my parents anniversary.... got the board sensor issue. Removed it and cleaned it and it started working, but then started the open cover thing. After 10 tries with no luck I took the cover switch out and twisted the wires together. So now I can leave the cover open and live dangerously
