Hey guys could someone tell me how to get my design to stand out away from the background like the basic patterns that the machine comes with.

You need to post an image of your design so we can see what it looks like. The best place to start is with the Tips and Tricks.

the tip and trick are a great help

you need to have a carve region and then invert you pattern to get them to be above your carve

it is covered in full in one of the tutorials

good luck and dont be afraid to ask questions

Hello Rick,

Welcome!

The quick answer is to make a Carve Region, then drag a pattern into that region. The pattern will stand proud of the region it sits within.
