Hello,

Here is my latest project... a Sailboat "Weather Predictor"!

The overall dimensions are about 12" Wide x 21.5" Tall x 4" Deep.

The sails are two-sided carves (from 3/4" thick stock) and end up being only about 3/16" thick with nicely contoured convex/concave surfaces.

The hull is about 2" thick, carved in three sliced pattern sections (top, middle, bottom) to fit together perfectly.:)

Michael
Did you design the sailboat yourself or is it a purchased pattern? It's beautiful work.

Great project Michael! I agree with SWhitney. Would love to see it in my Project of the Month subscription. I'll need to carve 3 right away. One for home, one for my boat and one for my boss.

Yes, this is the next Monthly Subscription Project.

Yes, I designed all the patterns myself using our ArtCAM software. I found a photo of a sailboat (see below) that I used as a "rough guide" to the proportions. I created the outline vectors in Corel, exported/imported into AC, then created the relief models and the slicing in ArtCAM.

How about both? The power boat fills the check book and the sailboat fills the soul.

Mike,

Your work never ceases to amaze me. When and if I get my machine, I'm gonna have to get the POM subscription so I can run some of your projects.

Why not ask for a 'Test' model for being the Admin

Another great project Michael, I have the opposite problem here, I can afford the POM Subs. But don't know if I would ever find time to Carve any of them.
