Here's a bat box I did as a Christmas gift. The M&M is for their first name initials. I really like carving eastern red cedar.

Did you carve grooves on the inside walls? and can you post the bat pattern?

The cedar came from a large dead tree on my place that my friend and I sliced on his portable sawmill. I only planed the outer surfaces and left the inside surfaces raw from the sawmill. I also used a wallpaper tiger to further roughen the inner surfaces so there should be plenty for the bat's little claws to grab to.

The bat pattern is modified from an image I found on the internet.
