I saw that advertisement, 0% financing / free shipping / 6 month warranty. I'm in process preparing budget amendment for my CFO (wife), Beginning with:

That is a pretty good deal.... That cuts the price of the used machines to below $999.00 without a warranty..... This would be a better deal. A used machine gets no warranty from LHR.

I would buy one..... When I am ready for #4 it will be off to Sears....

I don't think this is eligible for the free shipping because this is definitely not mailable. You get a 6 month warranty with these. Sorta shoots down my deal, but hey, I'd definitely buy one if I wanted another one.

When added to the cart it shows free standard shipping.

Hello All,

Been lurking around here reading up for a couple of weeks. I ordered the recondition CompuCarve from Sears on Dec. 2 and it arrived on Dec. 9. The price was $1,199 and after the discounts were applied along with free shipping, it cost a total of $1,066.

Played with a couple of test patterns. But I looking forward to this weekend to when I can dedicate a full day to learning the machine. Any advice is much appreciated.

Glad to be part of this community.

Happy Holidays to all!!

That is a great deal on the reconditioned machine. That would make a good secondary machine since i know my way around the first one after a year of experience. I wonder if they have them in the store and will let you look them over before buying. If it says free shippping it should be free shipping. I was unloading a package from Ups the other day and noticed a Carvewright box on the truck. Probably the woodworker neighbor down the street that was admiring mine a while back..haha..

Welcome Vbrabble. Read everything you can find here on lubing the machine. Lube the flex shaft with Cranes Cam Lube with Moly, Clean and lube after evey use - not the flex shaft though. Oh and come here with any questions or issues.

vbrabble,

Welcome to the CW Forum,

You've started right by reading some of the posts and threads on the forum.
Please also take time to read the tips and tricks posted a Carvewright,
their loads of help in setting up your machine and projects.
As a side note before you get involved with any large projects,
check the lube points on your machine, (Flex-Shaft included),
also look for any loose or missing nuts or screws.

Ps. Remember the Search option for more info
Have Fun

Thanks for the responses everybody. Since I bought my machine, I am on a tight budget until after Christmas. Will the items in the below links work with the CC. I have a gift card to Sears that I am itching to burn up.

Regards,
Vic

Both will work on your machine. The bits come with the holders already on them so you would not need the extra set right away. It is nice to have the extra set around in case you have an issue with them.

Good luck

That e-bay item--- The ADAPTERS will fit your compucarve ,but the Quick chuck will not. As the seller states in the first centence will fit newer 1/2" routers. That means that the adapters are for 1/2" shank bits and they will fit your cc. The QC is for newer handheld sears routers.

A side from Extra Carving and Cutting Bits,
these 5 bit are all I've ever needed.
60-V and 90-V Groove for Centerline Text,
and vector cuts. 3/8" straight for Calibrating
and 1/4" ball nose for carving.
I think $129.99 with no shipping for pickup,
Is a decent price for what you get.

Ps. This months Craftsman Club Flier has a members price for
a new CC Machine at $1799.99 free shipping to a sears store
near you for pick up

Lowe's also has the cw now for $1798.00 with free in store pickup .
The 1/4" roundnose bit is also used for 45 deg. miters across the end or edges of the boards.
