Posted in another thread, thought you'd like to see my latest.

Combined a pic of my great niece with a ptn of Christ with a little help from about 5 fellow members.

Used a mini florescent puck light from Lowes - a little too bright for my taste, but absolutely no heat - probably could have made the shadow box deeper, would have lessened the brightness.

Thanks for all who helped.

That looks Wonderful, absolutely a Treasure
A fine Project that will late for years.

You might try slipping a piece of defused plastic in the box,
between the Puck light and the carving. Spacing it about mid-way
will help scatter the light a bit, to help even it out a little.

Good idea, Ken - are you talking about something opaque, or what?

CNS,

That came out great! The text at the bottom is a little hard to read when it is lit. Maybe repositioning the light would help?

Actually, text reads great - it's the pic I took that sucks.

Opaque allows no light to pass through,
But Translucent or Frosted, defuses the light
and allows it to pass through and spread out.

Something to experiment with. http://forum.carvewright.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Ken -

How about a piece of plexiglass sanded on both sides with a random-orbit sander?

Prefect, I do it all the time for art Displays,
Try some crinkled up plastic wrap and see how
the light bounces around in your light box

Another thought,
I also cut up Drop Ceiling 2' x 4' fluorescent light prismatic lenses
Lowes has a verity off them and their quit inexpensive

The lenses are a great idea - I'll give that a try, too.

Thanks
